Dreamweaver Introduction

1. Open Dreamweaver either by clicking its icon on your desktop or by clicking
Start > Programs >Dreamweaver 4.

You will be confronted with a set of windows. The most important windows are:

2. The document window displays the current document as you create and edit it.

The main window by itself consist of:

a. Toolbar

b. Launcher bar

c. Tag selector

3. The objects panel contains icons which you can click to insert objects into your document.


4. The property inspector display properties for the selected object or text, which you can modify those properties.



5. Dreamweaver provides floating panels such as: HTML Styles panel, CSS Styles, and Behavior.



Dreamweaver display a document in three ways

1. Design view is the default document window.
2. Code view give you access to the HTML.
3. Split view that shows both the design and code view.

Furthermore, you can work with Dreamweaver design view in two different ways:
a. Layout view which can be used to design a page layout by inserting text, graphics.
b. Standard view, in addition to inserting graphics and text can also insert layers, create frames, tables, and apply other changes to your document.
