Water Drops Effects
1. Create a new document and fill the background with a
gradient. Make the gradient to go from 70% black to 20% black at a 45
degree angle from upper left to lower right. Create a new blank layer
by using the New Layer Icon. Press d then x press
Option-Delete to now fill the layer with white.
2. Go to Filter > Noise and choose Add Noise. Set the amount to 999
and select Gaussian for the distribution. Check Monochromatic and then
OK. Go Filter > Blur and choose Gaussian Blur. Add a 5-pixel blur and
select OK.
3. Go Image > Adjust >Threshold. Drag slider to the right until
rounded spots start to appear. When the spots look fairly large, click
OK. Then press Command-F to add another Gaussian blur of 5 pixels.
4. Go Image > Adjust > Threshold and move the slider to the right
until you have even larger raindrop looking spots. Switch to the Magic
Wand tool and click once on any white area surrounding your spots to select
the white areas. Then press Delete, then deselect. Hold down the Command
key and in the Layers pallet click on the layers name to select
the spots. Switch to the Gradient tool and drag the same 70/20 gradient
through the water spots. Note: The selection will still be visible on
the screen
Do Not Deselect!
5. Go to the Layer Menu to Layer Effects. Select Bevel and Emboss. For
the Style select Inner Bevel. Raise the Highlight Opacity to 100% and
set the blur to 7 and click OK.
6. Create a new blank layer and drag below the water spots layer. Click
on the water spots layer and press command-E to merge the spots with the
blank layer.
7. Reset the foreground color to default by pressing d then
go Edit > Stroke. Select 2 pixels for the width and Inside for the
location. Click OK. Do not deselect.
8. Go Filter > Blur >Gaussian and make the setting 1-pixel. Click
OK. Deselect. Note: If too many spots appear, use the Erase tool to re
move the unwanted ones from the spots layer. Now open your product shot
and drag it onto the water drops image, add a soft drop shadow from Layer
> Effects > Drop Shadow.
9. Then go to the water drops layer and select a few drops. Press Command-J
to place them on their own layer above the product. Change the Blending
Mode of that layer to Hard Light to make them appear transparent.

Moving a layer from one document to another document
Select the layer you want to move and shift drag the layer
to the other document and in that
way your layer is going to be position exactly where you want it.
Resizing an image
To resize an image in photoshop, follow these steps:
Select Image > Image size and reduce your file size no more than 50%
at a time and apply unsharp mask slightly after each step.
Example: Your image is
640 by 480, you would start changing the image size to 320 by 240 pixels
and apply unsharpen mask, start with 75%, with a 0.4-pixel radius and
0 threshold. If you need to resize your image again then you go 160 by
120 pixels and unsharpen mask.
